back again for another where she lives post – the ultimate behind the scenes look into the homes of our fav creatives. Take a peek into the homes (and closets!) of some of the most inspiring bloggers, photographers, artists, and more.
this month, we get to take a look into an ATL local graphic designer’s home who, by the way, also has an amazing sense of style. I feel like graphic designers “just get it” when it comes to how to organize a space. maybe it’s because they deal with balancing spaces, colors, and textures when producing graphics all day? but also maybe I just completely jumped to that conclusion without any real facts to back it up (yep!).
I would say this this is definitely the case for this perfectly styled place. Morgan Gold Emery is not just a graphic designer, but also a blogger with a perfectly balanced and beautifully colored feed. yes, we all know I’m not a huge color advocate, but Morgan’s feed gives me all the feels with her light, pastel colors. she definitely is making me look forward to summer.

Tell us a little about who you are and what you do.
By day I’m a graphic designer at MailChimp and when I’m not working I’m taking care of my fur baby Beau Peach, freelance graphic designing and learning how to cook.
Your home is so cozy and inviting, what inspired you to decorate this way?
Growing up my mom was always rearranging furniture, painting or landscaping the yard. She was super particular about where things were, and if you moved anything, she would know. She has always been my inspiration and my go-to when I need home advice.
Any special tips on selecting decor items for your home?
I’ve gone through so many phases of home decorating due to all the places I’ve lived in Atlanta. Finally I feel that I’ve landed on a style that reflects who I am. I feel that this is key! It is so hard to get caught up in what is trending in home decorating that it is a never ending cycle (especially with the seasons) This is why I like a more neutral route! This allows me to easily change out pillows & decor for certain seasons.
What would you say is important to invest in?
A couch. My fiancé and I finally invested in one and it was the best decision. It is the first place that he and I go to after a long day of work. It was important to fill the room that we spent the most time in!
What about trends? Any home trends you love, but may change next year (or season)?
Succulents & air plants. So easy to take care of and look so nice! They can really bring a home to life!
Were’s your go-to place to shop for home items?
West Elm, World Market & HomeGoods.
How does your personal style translate to your interior style?
Simple! The saying “less is more” I really try to live by.
Speaking of personal style, your style is so cute!! What are your go-to outfit combinations or ones you’ve been wearing a lot recently?
Thank you!! Lately I have been drawn to “fun” pants that aren’t just jeans! Don’t get me wrong, I still love a plain t-shirt and jean kind of day, but it’s nice to break out of that rhythm.
What do you think about fashion trends? Do you have any trends you’ve been trying out/loving?
Hats! I’ve been trying to up my hat game. I think they can add a lot to any outfit.
What would you tell someone who’s trying to curate their own personal style?
Don’t impulsively buy things. Just because it is trendy now, doesn’t mean that it’ll be trendy next week. Invest in your pieces and hone in on your own personal style. Don’t let trends define you.
Okay, you live in such a prime area in Atlanta, what are your favorite neighborhood spots?
Edgewood/Kirkwood is such a fun area! For coffee: Taproom Coffee, Muchacho Brunch: Scout Drinks: Georgia Beer Garden Dinner: Soba and love to get our groceries at Candler Park Market!
What’s next for Morgan Emery?
Ah! What a loaded question. I hope to keep growing my creative connections in that Atlanta community and work on various design projects that challenge me. It is a great time to be a woman! <3 I’m also about to be in the midst of wedding planning which will be very exciting!
annnnnnd a few photos of her cute little puppy Beau Peach (@LifeWithBeauPeach). I mean she is such a model, right?
so yeah, another perfectly curated home that I need to copy ASAP.
