As I walked out the door in this summery dress my husband gave me a compliment. As compliments on my outfit choices are few and far between from him (and probably for good reason!), I took that as a major compliment. I think the easiness of this dress is what did it. You can look put together in an un-done way. Does that even make sense?

Anyways, I originally found this dress when I was searching for something to wear to my God daughter’s baptism. I ended up stumbling upon this new australian retailer that has a good selection of clothes with an interesting edge. For me, I sometimes have troubles finding pieces that feel very… me. There’s always some aspect that I don’t like, weather it be the material, the color, a small detail on the sleeve, or whatever. I tend to be SUPER picky when buying new clothing. Okay, okay, maybe it’s my type A personality that makes me this way, but I wouldn’t have it any other way! So far, Billy J Boutique has killed it and I know I’ll be a returning customer.

While this dress didn’t make it in time for the baptism, I’m still very happy with it and already have plans to wear it to an up coming event. It’s perfect dressed up with your hair pulled back and mules or even at the beach with slides over a bathing suit with a boater hat. I can already tell I’ll get some good use out of it.

The high slit makes it very on trend for this season. It’s also very light; which is perfect for those of you in hot, humid cities – can I get an AMEN?!

These mules are obviously a staple. I think I wear them at least once a week if not more. They are super supportive and very comfortable to stand in for long periods of time.

Can I also give a shoutout to my awesome brother in law for giving me these Persols?! I am obsessed!
