5.8.2017 // home obsession

Those of you who know me, know the next big goal that my husband and I have is to buy our first home. In fact, I can’t stop talking about it, thinking about it, and basically designing the home I don’t have in my head at every second of the day… it’s getting bad!

The good news is, we’re close to being ready and I’ll get my moment to finally transform a space into something that really feels right. In the meantime, I have been refining my style and understanding more and more what I like in terms of interior design. While I am not an interior designer, I do feel like it’s another fun outlet to play around with combinations of colors (um, neutrals), textures, and art. Here are some current items that inspire me…

The bright white mixed with more earthy tones makes this idea very inviting, but also polished. I absolutely love the touch of greenery, which adds a pop of life to this look. I’ve been all about greenery lately and am currently in the process of finding a good plant for my current space.

Black&White – can I say more? This is what I’m talking about when referring to my #NoColorIsTheBestColor obsession. The clean lines and how the black contrasts with the white is everything. While I more than likely would not choose a black countertop, it works beautifully here. Love.

More greenery! I’m telling you, just adding a small house plant into the mix and you’ve instantly elevate an otherwise boring room. Also – mirrors. everywhere. That’s what I want.

Okay, can we just talk about these side chairs? It’s the most perfect color I have ever seen, I’m slightly (okay, very) obsessed. I’ve already told my husband that a pair of statement chairs will be the first investment I make in the house. Sorry babe! The grill can wait 🙂

This look gives me cozy vibes all day. I could totally see myself curled up on that chair working on my site or just relaxing after a long day. Everyone needs some faux fur in their life. #amiright?

Again, with the black contrasting the white. Can’t get enough. I may love this one more, because they’ve added in the white marble. I think I love white marble so much because (1) it looks clean and (2) there’s some grey in it. Duh.

This is what our house will look like from the outside… well hopefully. Whatever house we purchase (staying away from stone!) I will do my best to paint the outside white and add accents in black.

I will have an all white room in my house. This is a strong statement especially because – how practical is all white anyway? I just love the airy feeling of an all white room. You can also play around with textures which will add some interesting touches. A girl can dream!

Okay, Okay, I had to add this shower in here because of the dramatic appearance. I mean, how can I get this in my life ASAP? I’ve been loving the showers that feel more like caves recently. I guess there’s just something peaceful about them and, lets be real, the shower is a place of peace with (extra) hott water to relax at the end of the day.

What inspires you? Also, if you have any advice when buying a first home, I’d love to hear it! Let me know in the comments below.
